BRIEFLY BACK TO NSW

27 MAY
We’re briefly heading back to Tweed Heads over the border in NSW today because we have to get Betty G MOT’s and re-registered (it expires in June) before heading further north.
We’ve had a great week here at the Tallebudgera Creek Tourist Park with Marion and Terry – they have been kind enough to take us around to visit various places in the area. Nice park right next to the creek which didn’t rise as much as it could with the bad weather and ‘king’ tides recently. Beautiful weather now – really warm.

28 MAY

Well, our Betty G passed with flying colours, she also had a service and oilchange and now has a brand new year long registration.   We decided to stay overnight at Tweeds Heads – this was just as well as the check, service and registration took almost the whole day.

29 MAY

Back on the road northwards although we only got as far as the Main Beach Caravan Park just north of Surfers Paradise.   This was because I discovered that a member of the IGKT (International Guild of Knot Tyers) lives at Mermaid Waters which was almost directly on our way.   Jeff phoned Jim this morning and we were duly invited to call in.   We spent a lovely couple of hours with Jim, his Mrs, Carmel, and his Mum.   We’ll visit them again on our way back down in July.

We’ll be here in Main Beach until Sunday morning when we’ll head on up to Brisbane.
